Working From Home Style Guide For The Career Gal

November 1, 2021 · Fashion, Style tips, Womenswear

In this unique time of navigating through the impacts of the ongoing pandemic, people get to explore different coping mechanisms not only for their physical wellbeing but also for their optimal functionality at work. It has gotten more difficult to be on ‘work mode’ when the line between personal and professional life almost becomes non-existent. Therefore, many look for ways to somehow revive that kind of normalcy by investing in outfits that can condition their mindset and feel good about themselves.

Work From Home Style Guide

If you’re one of those looking for some inspiration to look fab at home as you switch to your work mindset, you’re in the right place! It’s truly tempting to stay in the same pyjamas for weeks but doing so might affect your motivation with a lack of turning phase which can be achieved through dressing up. To be on top of your work and fashion game, here is a style guide to help you elevate your basic outfit.

Comfort Meets Style

In order to save time but still look gorgeous, the way to go is a basic tee that can be partnered with a denim jacket. This will make you stay comfortable and motivated as you’re in your simple yet ‘game-on’ clothes. Plus, let’s get real–you won’t be able to show the lower half of your body in meetings most of the time so no need to bother thinking about what pants or shorts to wear. Though, if you really want to go all out, opt for your favourite jeans and classic skate shoes. You’ll surely feel more put-together especially when you’re enjoying a hot cup of coffee as well.

Staying Upbeat With Floral

There are a lot of reasons to feel blue nowadays, but there are also ways to combat them such as putting on a bright and flowey dress! Who wouldn’t feel radiant when flowers seem to be forming an embrace, right? As you get chic with warmth, you can also consider matching it with a checkered cardigan and rocking a red eyeshadow to complement the flora on you. Though, don’t overdo your makeup since there’s still got to be some balance. Do your hair and be an inspiring sun ray during possibly dull meetings.

Neutral Minimalist Look

This is perfect for those who love earth colours and the classy black and white combination. The white button-down will never go out of style. If you’re running out of ideas, pick that up from your closet and match it with black leggings or trousers. This look can ooze a super chic, professional feel. In case you want to have some touch-ons, don’t hesitate to explore wearing a silk bandana and light eye make-up and blush which can make you feel as if you’re low-key on fire.

Casually Cozy

It’s getting colder by the day so you should always be prepared with a cozy sweater or knitted cardigan. Though, you should do away from the chunky type of sweater. On camera, you might look as if you’ve just gone out of bed. Contour your cheeks a bit and add a nude lipstick as you deem fit. You can pair your sweater with dark jeans or a long comfy skirt to complete your look. Letting your hair down is okay as it could highlight the shape of your face since you already did contouring. Though, if you want to put it up, wear cute little earrings that can contribute to the delightful vibe we’re aiming for.

The Gist of it

This style guide can help you focus more on your work. Don’t sacrifice comfort before style especially when they can meet halfway. We hope that this guide inspires you to continue life the prettiest way possible and make wonders happen. Remember that beauty comes from within. Don’t forget to take care of yourself. This may significantly add up to the look you want to achieve.

I’ll be wearing my Skineez Skincarewear thigh slimmer and v-neck top EVERYWHERE for the next few months in preparation for all the arm and thigh baring cocktail dresses….you have to check it out…it tones and firms the skin and actually reduces cellulite and moisturizes the ashy skin that comes with the cold weather…I am in in love … http://www.myskineez.com

The Trucker convoy is still going strong and sprea The Trucker convoy is still going strong and spreading around the world. The trump cheerleaders found themselves another excuse to occupy institutional buildings and the cities that house them. While I too am fed up of the mandates, I don’t believe their plights are justified. Yes it’s frustrating the flip flop between closures and reopening, and while they are implemented at times to limit the spread as to alleviate the strain on the healthcare system, as annoying as they are, I don’t think it’s a reason to be shouting freedom on parliament hill, harassing residents or blatantly displaying racist symbols and rhetoric. For the most part, mandates are not stopping anyone from living, going out, even travelling! They’re a temporary inconvenience to our daily lives, but in due time, will be lifted as COVID becomes more manageable. This isn’t the worlds first go around at a pandemic. Each round takes time to return things back to normal…Just go back to 1918 to see what happened…were those public health measures still in effect 5 or 10 years later?? My heart goes out to businesses and employees whose livelihoods have suffered, especially as gov assistance winds down. But like all trends, major events force humanity to readapt (think automation). Vacancy rate has been at an all time high and unemployment back to pre-pandemic levels, proof that many employees and businesses have retooled and transformed. If those convoys feel strongly about protesting, they should protest for healthcare reform. Canada is ranking as the worst in the G7 for healthcare. Our system is riddled with administrators, not enough doctors or nurses. Caps are put in residency spots and foreign trained healthcare workers waste expertise on low-skilled work as they’re deemed “not good enough” to work in the Canadian healthcare system…now that’s something worth shouting freedom for! Swipe left for more.
