Working Remotely Wardrobe Essentials

April 6, 2020 · Fashion, Gear, Womenswear

The longer we stay home working remotely and in self-isolation, the more our fashion sense is affected. We may be switching our heels for slippers, socks or flip flops. Possibly the odd sneaker when we’re working out. Our blazers, blouses, dress pants and going out clothes are taking a breather to leave room for sweats, leggings, PJs and I hope workout clothes.

Working Remotely

Being in the comfort of my own home like all of you, I’ve come up with a list of WFH or WOFH (workout from home) outfits, including some that can be great for grocery shopping in style. Here are some of the working remotely fashion essentials.

Relaxed Work Outfits & Comfortable Flats

As most of us have been directed to adopt a WFH scenario, it seems our old university sweaters have also been adopted into our day-to-day uniform. But let’s not lose all hope (and motivation). Remember dressing for success, even in our own homes, can be easier than you think.

Relaxed yet stylish looks will still give you comfort and flexibility. This is sleek crewneck crop top is perfect for chilly spring days with this ultra-slim, sleek sheen trouser, and flats that work for both your Zoom meeting and your weekend, allowing for the perfect transition from the couch to walking your dog.

Workout Clothes & Runners

If you’re anything like me, this is a must! I still maintain my 6-7 days a week workout schedule, despite the gym closure. If you have sets from before, great! If not, it’s time to invest, especially as the nice weather approaches. A pair of workout pants, tops, sports bras, socks and runners are must-haves if you’re to be successful at your working out game.

For your runners, try these bacteria eliminators and blister blockers that are helpful for new shoes.

I’m really dig this supplement fat burning lemonade supplement. It is a high performance fitness, weight loss and recovery product. Fat burning lemonade is used to aid in fat loss accelerating your metabolic rate using fat for fuel. It will also get you into ketosis faster by accessing your stored carbohydrates burning up all the carb stores fast. But aside from that, I really notice the difference in my endurance whenever I take it before working out against not having any. It really keeps me energized, focused, healthy and on point nutritionally.

Undergarments

You’ll be no doubt needing several panties and bras, especially comfortable ones. You can also opt for lingerie since you may be spending more romantic nights with your partners.

Sweat Ensemble & Flip Flops

A sweat ensemble is a must to unwind from a hard days work, even though you’ve been home all day. Maybe you like a hoodie, a zip up, or just a plain oversized sweater. Whatever your preference, finding a pair that doesn’t cinch, itch, or pinch is key.

I added flip flops as they’re comfortable to wear around the house and a great alternative to staying barefoot.

Pyjamas & Slippers

You can’t ignore pyjamas and slippers! While you may be tired of wearing them because sometimes it feels like a prison uniform, it’s important to ensure you replenish since you’re overusing your current pair. Now more than ever, you may be looking for higher quality loungewear to resist the long hours and numerous tasks you perform in them.

Slippers are equally important. Since you’re home you’re more likely to don slippers than shoes. A stylish comfortable pair can make all the difference when walking on different types of surfaces at home.

Socks

Socks are an important element these days with long days at home. If you’re tired of your flip flops, switch to warm socks. Having a pair that’s warm enough to cuddle your feet against the cold floor.

Accessories

You don’t want to feel completely naked, having some basic jewellery like a simple necklace, a watch and stud earrings are great. You’re probably already laying off the makeup and doing your hair, but jewels can still make you feel like you’re going somewhere.

Extendable Belt

If you’re struggling to button your jeans these days and are at the mercy of normal weight fluctuations, fear not it’s normal. Our routines have changed and spending time at home means you are bored a lot more often than you once were. With boredom, comes snacking, and with lack of movement, comes extra pounds. With all of that under your belly (literally), your favourite pants may no longer fit. You may also not be wearing them that often but the times you need to do the groceries and have to put on a pair of decent pants, is when you may be reaching for them.

Avoid feeling bad, embarrassed or annoyed or order a new pair online. The extendable belt solves the situation for you. It’s an extender available in men’s and women’s sizes at Behind The Buckle. It features a hidden extender that lets you fit into snug jeans in 4 easy steps:

  1. Put strap in first loop counterclockwise
  2. Put extender button in jeans hole, with upward motion
  3. Use 2 index fingers to pull jeans button inside extender hole.
  4. Zip up with flap down and loop around

The Gist of it

As everyone settles into this new reality of working remotely, practice “safe shopping with style.” The above items are what you need to increase your productivity in perfect comfort. What items are hanging in your wardrobe these days while working remotely?

The videos you see when you swipe left are some of the last large workout groups I’ve attended with @stadiumworkout before it ceased due to the pandemic last year. I owe it to such groups to have embraced outside workouts during the cold weather, giving me ideas on how I can incorporate cardio and strength with little equipment. Hopefully one ☝🏼 day the group restarts and we can all reunite. For now I dedicate my winter 🥶 workouts to the organizers ☺️.

While Black History Month is synonymous with promi While Black History Month is synonymous with prominent figures such as Martin Luther King Jr., Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, Muhammad Ali, Jackie Robinson, Langston Hughes, Maya Angelou, George Washington Carver and Barack Obama, there are countless other African Americans who've made a profound impact in history: self-made millionaire Madam C.J. Walker, astronaut Mae C. Jemison, open-heart surgeon Daniel Hale Williams, inventor Garret Morgan, media mogul Oprah Winfrey and "Father of Black History" Carter G. Woodson, who lobbied extensively to establish Black History Month as a nationwide celebration, among many others.

Black history is not just a month to be celebrated but something that we should always commemorate. Everything it encompasses cannot be covered in a tiny Instagram post. It’s so rich, so full and yet so much more we need to learn about it passed the mainstream and popular figures. Take some time and uncover a part of the black past, present and future regularly to appreciate its magnitude and how it shaped the world we live in today.

Happy Valentine’s Day ❤️. For those who love Happy Valentine’s Day ❤️. For those who love and want to help the Palestinian cause, let’s send Facebook the message by signing the petition at facebookweneedtotalk.org/petition.

The Israeli government is asking Facebook to equate “Zionist” with “Jew” in its hate speech policy, which would make “Zionist” a de facto protected category. This dangerous policy would shield the Israeli government from accountability and harm efforts to dismantle antisemitism.

Facebook, we need to talk. Here are 6 things we need you to know about Zionists. Swipe left to read about it and share.

I was inspired to show off this photo after seeing I was inspired to show off this photo after seeing @sweetzuzudesigns wallpaper DIY. If anyone knows me, they know how much I love Carrara marble (in fact the table in the middle is also Carrara marble that we made, my feed has the video of the project). This wall stops everyone in their tracks as they think it’s real marble but it’s actually high quality wallpaper worth every penny and more from @photowall_sweden. If you’re looking for wallpaper, I strongly recommend them. I’ve purchased previous ones before but none of rest quality like this one. I recommend upgrading and getting the one that’s easy to clean. I plan on doing the other side of the wall to make it look like a full block of marble. You can swipe right to see what the in progress looked like and previous wall and set up design. Over the years my style has embraced simplicity, natural materials and light tones wit a touch of black.
