How to Sleep Better

Loss of sleep can make you feel sluggish, your concentration can suffer and you may be more prone to illness. You really need to aim for 7-9 hours of sleep a night to ensure productivity and to feel great the next day.

Switch Off Technology

Technology keeps your mind awake which is not great if your lacking sleep. Make sure to turn off all your technology (TV, phone, laptop) at least 2 hours before you go to bed to allow your brain to wind down. Once you’ve played a game on EasySlots and watched one of your favourite Netflix series it’s time to turn everything off.

The reasons you need to turn all of your digital devices off to improve sleep is because the bright lights from the screens can cause alertness. The activities on the devices stimulate your brain so it’s not ready for sleep and it’s easy to get carried away and stay on our phones or watch another TV programme beyond our usual bedtime.

Create a Routine

Having a night time routine will definitely help you sleep better through the night. Go to sleep at the same time every day (even on weekends) and wake up at the same time every morning to restart your body clock. Netflix, Instagram, and the games at Easy Slots are amazing, from big developers like 1×2 Gaming, but remember to take a break from them and keep up your sleeping routine.

Eat your last meal at the same time daily. Take a bath to unwind, watch a little TV, then read for an hour before you go to sleep. This will definitely aid in improving your sleep.

Once you get into this routine you’ll be able to fall asleep easier and stay asleep for the whole night.

Eat Healthy During The Day

Eating healthy and drinking eight glasses of water a day obviously has plenty of benefits. One of those benefits is a better night’s sleep.

It’s important to not eat too close to bedtime as not only are you more likely to store more fat, but the rich foods can cause heartburn and stomach troubles which will keep you awake.

Avoiding caffeine before bed is also vital to allow you to have a good night’s sleep. Another thing to consider for a better sleep is to avoid alcohol before bed. It can interfere with your sleep cycle.

Relax

If you find you worry a lot before bed and take ages to fall asleep because your mind is running, you need to find ways to unwind and relax. Listening to white noise videos may help. Great ways to unwind include having a bath, listening to calming music, doing some light yoga and reading a book.

In addition, you can seek therapy to help you cope with your stress so you can find peace at night.

The Gist of it

Learning how to sleep better takes practice just like anything else in life. Doing these calming activities before bed, building a routine and eating well will allow your mind to slow down and breathe, forget any stresses and anxieties which make it difficult to sleep.
