With such names as Beyoncé and Cardi B, Haim, MØ and so many others comprising the lineup for the upcoming Coachella, containing your excitement can be difficult, if not impossible.
April is here, and we all know by now that when it comes to festivals, this one in particular. Coachella fashion is almost as important as the music. Even if you’re not attending, it’s really essential to get the skinny on the hottest festival trends, because chances are, you’ll be rocking these looks all summer long.
Coachella Fashion Guide
Personally, I love getting inspired by Coachella fashion as I find there is always something unique to draw from it. So let’s see how you can channel the latest trends to fit the Coachella style.
Go Big or Go Home
For the past several years anything with fringe has been a festival-style must have. The latest Coachella fashions are far from devoid of fringe, but if you’re gonna take this route, you better go big.
Take a cue from the latest spring lines and go with a full-fringe dress in patriotic stripes. This way you’re combining the spirit of America and keeping your boho vibes in check, but in a slightly more eccentric, therefore unique way.
Sheer it up
The sheer dress trend has been huge on red carpets, but now it’s become a thing of mainstream. So, this year, instead of the crochet tops, shorts and sheer kimonos you might want to take things up a notch and go with an all-together sheer dress.
It still exudes the festival vibe, especially if you accessorize right – use wide belts, boho ankle boots and plenty of statement jewellery to make the look even more ostentatious.
Flower Power
On the other hand, if sheer isn’t really your thing, there is always flower power to turn to. The murky florals still reign supreme. You can kill two birds with one stone by going in a breezy wrap dress that will not only give you a killer hourglass figure, but also allow for plenty of movement due to the high slit.
Thanks to the rise of athleisure, you can play around with the look and make it even more interesting with a pair of incredible New Balance sneakers. In the age of athleisure anything goes, and sneakers and floral dresses make for a killer unique combo.
Athleisure Mix
If you’re a true member of the Beyhive, you won’t hesitate to show some love by wearing something from Queen B’s very own Ivy Park athleisure line. If you feel like flaunting what you’ve got, go with a simple crop top and cut-off denim shorts.
Opt to show off those curves with an Ivy Park logo bodysuit, if you prefer. Since this is a pretty minimal and sporty choice, there’s no need to go overboard with accessories. Glitter sneakers and a lot of body glitter will suffice.
Too Much
Hey, it’s festival season, so there’s virtually no such thing as too much. One of the hottest upcoming Coachella fashion trends is animal print. Who doesn’t love animal print??
If that doesn’t set you apart from the crowd, nothing will. Whether you go for a leopard print ankle-length dress and white ankle boots or decide to take an even more eccentric route with red leopard print leggings, with a logo tee from your favourite brand, it’s totally up to you.
These shorts will look amazing with a metallic top, something in ultra violet, and aside from a strong makeup look to match, you don’t need anything else.
Headwear
The flower crown has had a pretty good run, but it’s high time you say goodbye and go with something more on point. This year’s go-to accessories are headbands, which have finally made a comeback.
If you truly want to rule the style arena, then you definitely want to go with a turban. Aside from looking fierce, you won’t have to worry about your hair. With an accessory as strong as this, all you need is to frame your eyes with eyeliner and a fierce wing, and you are good to go.
Eccentric Colours
You don’t want to go through all the trouble only to have a surprise spring shower ruin your look. Luckily, the ’80s eccentric colours have made a huge comeback, so if you must get wet, do so looking like a queen in either a pink or electric blue windbreaker or parka.
The Gist of it
Getting onto the festival style train is not as hard as you may think. Sure it may take some guts to pull of the looks, some coordination and possibly a friend’s feedback, remember that any of the Coachella fashion looks discussed can always be scaled back to accommodate your comfort zone.
So what do you say, will you be rockin’ (literally) any of these looks at the next summer fest?

This would be so fun to attend! I love the little beads, etc. that they add to their face/makeup! The outfits are so breezy and boho, too! Just love!
