Present ideas for dad are surely on your mind at this time of year. Any thoughts what you’ll get?
Let me help you…
I’m sure you don’t want any present ideas for dad that will make you roll your eyes and day “This year again??” Agreed? I think you do.
Present Ideas For Dad He’ll Want
So how do we make sure we find present ideas for dad he’ll want?
We go to unexpected sources.
To go to unexpected sources, we need to find unexpected gift categories. So here are a few present ideas for dad that I think he may enjoy.
Essential Oils
I know you might think that’s such a girly gift, but don’t dads look after their well-being too? At least I thought so. As someone who loves their daddy, wouldn’t it be the perfect opportunity for you to get them to start looking after their health with essential oils from Young Living?
Eyeglasses
Surely not the first thing that comes to mind, but if you’ve been dying to change your dad’s eyeglasses because he just got a new prescription, the frames are outdated, or you can’t stand the taping he added to patch up his frames, this gift idea will pay it forward.
These are from Aspire. My hubby has gotten compliments on them non stop since he’s gotten them. They also have a customizable line to suit everyone’s needs.
Reversible Pocket Square
Sure this may not sound so much part of unexpected present ideas for dad but I promise you it is.
So why is a basic pocket square considered unexpected?
Because it isn’t so basic..the reversible pocket square has 2 sides, which your dad can wear on either one or both at the same time. It goes perfectly with any casual, formal, business, or leisure outfit.
And if he doesn’t like to wear it, he can always use it as a very useful handkerchief. It’s a win/win situation.
Customized Watch
Sounds expensive, right?? Not really. Freeda‘s got the right fix for you. They’re releasing 2 styles of their watches on KickStarter:
- Plano
- SS36 Gran Turismo
These luxury vintage watches are inspired by 1960 Italian style (Dolce Vita). They’re fully customizable (I’m talking all, from the box, to the design shapes, colours, patterns and materials), at a FRACTION of the price. Sweet!
Tie Rack
If your dad loves ties, or has many of them, I don’t suggest you go ahead and another one. Otherwise, I would defeat the purpose of my post.
Get him something better.
Something that I’m sure he’s likely hasn’t found a stylish solution to. He may not care much for style or decor, but I’m sure he likes practicality and organization.
Make a DIY tie rack (Craftaholics Anonymous) where he can easily hang his ties, have a dashboard view of his stock, and quickly grab what matches.
Curate His Camera Roll
Sounds invasive, right?? Not at all. You’re doing him a favour by organizing his pics with Recently.
So what’s Recently, you ask?
A subscription app that curates your monthly camera roll (or any album) into a luxuriously cool magazine delivered to your doorstep.
Imagine all those beautiful images your papa took on his travels, fishing or hunting trips? Sure you want to keep it digital, but it’s nice to have a copy on hand as a coffee table book.
Photo Storing
It’s one thing to organize your photo in a live version of Instagram, it’s another to be able to keep them all without having to delete because your phone keeps running out of storage.
So how do you keep those pics secured without buying more iCloud space?
Picture KeeperConnect. It’s a USB key for phones that stores all your images. No need to wifi, data, or cloud space. I’ve mentioned this product before as a great companion for Coachella.
DIY Grill set
We all know men love barbecuing and having BBQ. Compliment that habit with an ideal spot for them to hang their tools.
Make it special though and DIY a board with funky knobs (Illuna) that he can conveniently hang right by his BBQ.
BBQ Rub in a Jar
Make your dad’s BBQ gift even better and go the extra mile.
How? No I’m not suggesting you get him a new BBQ, rather a mix of his ultimate BBQ rub (Kristen Duke Photography) that he can use on his meats.
This will be to your advantage, because you’ll get to have some of that meat too!
Game Night Snacks
Is your dad into sports? Yes, great! Prepare him a game night toolbox (Moms and Munchkins) full of his fave snacks he can munch on.
He’ll be very thankful he has you in his life.
The Gist of it
Unexpected present ideas for dad from unexpected sources aren’t that hard to find. Some are not even out of this world and come in real handy. Thinking outside the box can work real well for you dad. Do you have unexpected gift ideas that you’re thinking of getting?
