Advice on Fashion, Beauty, Fitness, Home Décor & DIY

Cheap Celebrity Gowns For Your Body Type & Look

June 27, 2016 · Fashion, Style tips, Womenswear

When shooting for the stars seems impossible, remember that dressing like a star, isn’t as far fetch as it once seemed to be. Thanks to online shopping, not only has it become easier, but celebrity gowns have become way cheaper too. I don’t mean the actual gowns they wear, but ones that are celebrity-inspired.

Cheap Celebrity Gowns for all Occasions

The summer always brings many weddings and cocktail parties with it. While you dress depending on the dress code each one calls for, if it’s a family affair, I often find myself having to go all out. That’s why I like to go with celebrity gowns as I know they are a hit!

Cheap Celebrity Gowns for Your Body Type & Look

I’ve always had expensive taste, which makes it hard to get everything you want. When you have multiple events to go to, it means the number of dresses you need multiply. Who can afford to buy more than 1 or 2 dresses per season?

Determining Which Celebrity Gown Suits You

Thankfully, I’ve found these great and super cheap options for celebrity-inspired gowns. Now it’s all about finding the right style for you. The good thing about celebrity gowns, is that based on the celeb wearing it, you can pretty determine if it will suit your look. For example, Taylor Swift is blonde with fair skin and blue eyes, a tall slender physique. If you have the same specs, it’s pretty easy to determine that the celebrity gown style and colours she wore at the Oscars will look good on you.

Options That Work For Different Bodies & Looks

Here are a few that I’ve been browsing through lately that can work for the different looks and body types.

Petite all Over

Mila Kunis sheer lavender lace Oscar dress

Mila Kunis’ lavender sheer dress she wore at the Oscars would be perfect for any petite woman. Mila went with lavender to compliment her dark hair and skin.

Petite & Curvy

Kim Kardashian electric blue Grammy Awards dress with beaded elegant sheath

We all know Kim Kardashian has a ton of curves, so if you share her body type, take a few hints from her, as much as you love or hate her. Kim’s dark feature make the electric blue stand out.

Long & Lean

Taylor Swift sexy plunging black Oscars Vanity Fair party

Taylor Swift has a desirable model like body with perfect blonde hair and blue eyes. If you fit in that category, Taylor is your model to follow. Showing off some leg and cleavage as she did in this dress gives her some curvature.

Hourglass

Katie Perry Deep V neck pink evening dress

Katie Perry has the right amount of curvatures in the right places. You can show off anything and you’d look amazing. With her pinup style look, almost all colours look good on her.

Pear Shaped

Maria Menounos Oscars strapless trumpet hot pink satin dress

Maria Menounos is a perfect pear that requires her to accentuate her shoulders to even out her shape. Thanks to her olive skin, flashy colour like this hot pink number look stunning on her.

Inverted Triangle

Reese Witherspoon Oscar purple dress with tail

Reese Witherspoon is an inverted triangle, but to compensate for it, focusing on the lower half of the body is key, just like she did by choosing this mermaid tail dress. Purple and dark colours on Reese tend to carry really well on her.

Straight/Rectangular

Kate Hudson Tiffany blue chiffon slit strapless cocktail dress

Kate Hudson has more of a boyish figure that has little to no curves. To make up for the lack of curves, she opted for a dress that adds some hourglass to her shape. The colour compliments her eyes.

To Summarize

You can look like a star even if you don’t have the budget of a celeb. To know which style would suit you best, pick one of a celeb that shares your body shape:

  • Petite all over with dark features – follow Mila Kunis’ feminine style
  • Petite and curvy with dark features – follow Kim Kardashian avant gard looks
  • Long and lean with lighter features – check out Taylor Swift dress choices
  • Hourglass with fair skin and dark hair – Katie Perry is your girl
  • Pear shaped with dark skin and light hair – Maria Menounos might know a thing or 2 about what you should wear
  • Inverted triangle with light features – Reese Witherspoon can pinpoint what you should go for
  • Straight/rectangular with light features – Kate Hudson would be an ideal option for you

Which shape are you and what celeb shares your body type? Let me know in the comments.

Love seeing these gowns. It’s funny when we categorize these women’s shapes, because I hardly notice that at all—I’m so mesmerized by the gown!!

I know! they all look like they have the same shape but we forget they are human like us and come in different formats. The reason they probably don’t look overly hippy or busty is probably because they wear the right types of outfits for their body type 😉

The Trucker convoy is still going strong and sprea The Trucker convoy is still going strong and spreading around the world. The trump cheerleaders found themselves another excuse to occupy institutional buildings and the cities that house them. While I too am fed up of the mandates, I don’t believe their plights are justified. Yes it’s frustrating the flip flop between closures and reopening, and while they are implemented at times to limit the spread as to alleviate the strain on the healthcare system, as annoying as they are, I don’t think it’s a reason to be shouting freedom on parliament hill, harassing residents or blatantly displaying racist symbols and rhetoric. For the most part, mandates are not stopping anyone from living, going out, even travelling! They’re a temporary inconvenience to our daily lives, but in due time, will be lifted as COVID becomes more manageable. This isn’t the worlds first go around at a pandemic. Each round takes time to return things back to normal…Just go back to 1918 to see what happened…were those public health measures still in effect 5 or 10 years later?? My heart goes out to businesses and employees whose livelihoods have suffered, especially as gov assistance winds down. But like all trends, major events force humanity to readapt (think automation). Vacancy rate has been at an all time high and unemployment back to pre-pandemic levels, proof that many employees and businesses have retooled and transformed. If those convoys feel strongly about protesting, they should protest for healthcare reform. Canada is ranking as the worst in the G7 for healthcare. Our system is riddled with administrators, not enough doctors or nurses. Caps are put in residency spots and foreign trained healthcare workers waste expertise on low-skilled work as they’re deemed “not good enough” to work in the Canadian healthcare system…now that’s something worth shouting freedom for! Swipe left for more.
