Tips on Finding Wholesale Dresses for Your Blog Shop + Linkup

June 13, 2016 · Fashion, Womenswear

As more and more people look to start a side hustle, the idea of starting a blog or Etsy shop becomes very attractive. Yet to take on such a business you need to find suppliers. Finding suppliers seems easier than it is because all you have to do is a Google search. In fact, finding a trusting supplier is harder than seems. If you are or want to be in the fashion business, specifically dresses, I’ve got a few tips to help you locate wholesale dresses for your shop.

Tips on Finding Wholesale Dresses Suppliers

Learning the Basics of Blog Shops

If you are just starting out, read Essentials for Launching Your Clothing Business Startup or Start Your Fashionable Plus Size Clothes Business to help you learn the basics. The advantage of a blog shop over a brick and mortar is the overhead cost is far lower, as you don’t have rent to pay, fewer to no employees, and other fixed costs.

Launch your own clothing business startup

Still, looking for places where you can buy cheap wholesale fashion dress is still required in order for you to have something to sell. It is important for one to find a good wholesale dresses supplier that can provide you a low cost so you can up your margins by 50% for higher profit.

Wholesale Dresses Supplier Prices

It’s important to buy at good prices to be profitable especially in today’s high competition world. Gaining the most dollar for what you do or sell is vital to your survival.

For instance, if you manage to get your dress at $10, but you are only able to sell it for $15, you only earn $5 in the process. But what if you if you can find a wholesaler who is willing to provide you the dress at $5 or less? That’s easily a 100% increase in the amount of profits that you would be earning.

Getting Around the Bulk Order Requirements

Finding a good wholesale dresses supplier is not an easy task though especially when you are just starting out. Wholesalers tend to only do orders in bulk, leaving you in a whole. This means no supplier will agree to sell you wholesale dresses unless you purchase over 100 of them at once. You risk not being able to sell all of them when you are still new and in the process of promoting your shop and gaining customers.

Look for Other Blog Shop Owners

One way to get around this problem would be to look for other shop owners who might be facing the same problem as you and ask them whether they would like to share the supplies.

Wholesaler Exhibits

Another method for any shop owner who is looking to buy cheap wholesale dresses would be to keep a lookout for wholesale exhibitors and events. Sometimes, these events are coordinated to help increase the reputation of wholesaling companies and to get their names out there. This gives you an opportunity to check out the wholesale dresses suppliers’ product quality up close to decide for yourself if you can trust their workmanship. You might be able to build up good connections with some wholesalers that you can use to your advantage when time comes to negotiate lesser bulk orders.

For instance, if the wholesaler usually only does orders in the hundreds, they might be willing to pass you an order of 50 units or less.

To Recap

Finding a well priced and good wholesale dresses supplier is definitely the most crucial step for anyone looking to start a blog dress shop or retail business as it is one of the main factors which can influence your earnings greatly.

  • Looking for a supplier that will provide a good profit margin.
  • Finding a wholesale dresses supplier that can accommodate smaller orders by:
    • Seeing what other blog shop owners are doing; or
    • Meeting wholesaler at exhibits.

I’m borrowing this story from @jewishvoiceforpea I’m borrowing this story from @jewishvoiceforpeace Lucia Pizarro who worked for the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions in Jerusalem. Israel does not give building permits to Palestinians in East Jerusalem or in Area C of the West Bank (as part of ethnic cleansing strategies) and therefore demolished their homes. She forged deep connections with Palestinian families only to see their lives destroyed by the state of Israel. Then went back to her fancy neighborhood in West Jerusalem.

On Passover she celebrated that the Hebrews came out of slavery into freedom, telling the story as if it was her who was delivered from Egypt....but couldn't do it. She was a 10-minute walk away from East Jerusalem, where her friends were terrified that their home would be the next one to be destroyed.

She lived in Jerusalem with all the rights and privileges that her Palestinian friends didn't have. The Israeli state has imprisoned an entire people, and she was supposed to celebrate her own freedom inside of that same state.

A friend invited her to a Seder but she told him She couldn't do it unless Palestine was mentioned. With time, She created the kind of Seder She could live and share with others, discovering there were many who shared her same needs.

This Ramadan, please think of supporting Palestinian farmers by purchasing locally-sourced dates (not ones made in the illegal settlements), as are not only denied basic human rights, but their economic, physical and psychological states are in peril.

@hcicanada partnered with a local organization to source hand-picked dates from Palestinian farmers, to support them. 100% of the proceeds go towards aid programs in Palestine. You can get it delivered or pick up locally for free.

Spring is here and it’s a happy time for many, a Spring is here and it’s a happy time for many, a chance to get outside and enjoy time with others that we have t seen in a while due to lockdown measures and cold weather, limiting our interactions. For others however, it doesn’t make it any better. My prayers go out to the victims, families and friends of the Atlanta shooting. A tragedy that should not happen. Many Americans and Canadians of Asian descent have been facing racism, and the shooting was the latest and most heinous crime committed recently against Asian Americans. Stop racism in its tracks, stand and speak up against it.
