Copy Jessica Alba’s Style in Fashion & at Home

March 4, 2016 · Fashion, Home Décor, Lifestyle, Style tips, Womenswear

Linkup time is here again! This week, I’m exploring Jessica Alba’s style in fashion and at home. I’ll show you how you can also snatch Jessica Alba’s look.

A True Businesswoman

Jessica Alba is an actress, author and businesswoman is anything but an ordinary woman in Hollywood. Her impeccable fashion style made her world-famous. From elegant gowns to casual street-style, Jessica loves experimenting with different outfits, colours and patterns.

Design-obsessed Self-made Woman

She is one of those design-obsessed celebrities, which becomes apparent the moment you see her Pinterest profile. In 2012, this eco-conscious businesswoman co-founded The Honest Company, selling non-toxic household products. In 2013, she wrote a book The Honest Life: Living Naturally and True to You recounting her business journey and her desire to create the safest environment for her kids. Finally, In 2015, Forbes named Jessica the America’s Richest Self Made Businesswoman.

Jessica Alba’s Style

Jessica loves playing around with colours as you’ll see below.

Bright Colours

She can be seen in her outfit consisting of coral wide-legged trousers, a blue-and-white striped top, a blue structured jacket and black heels.

The Simple Stuff

She knows how to handle simple, or monochromatic outfits: a leopard satchel for a blazer-denim combination, or a pair of leopard ballerina pumps for a denim-shirt combination. Jessica Alba’s style is reflected in her stunning boho outfits. Denim flares are definitely her thing, whether she pairs them up with a waistcoat faux fur coat, an oversized plaid shirt and fedora, or a coral tucked in top and a denim shirt.

Black & White

When it comes to Jessica Alba’s style and her fashion sense regarding more formal outfits, black-and-white outfits make her sophisticated and elegant. On one occasion, she wore a black-and-white mirror effect dress combined with a quilted clutch, black peep-toes and red lipstick, while on the other she opted for a black-and-white checkered midi dress and black pumps.

She looks stunning when experimenting with different colours, too. For her book signing in Santa Monica, Jessica wore an abstract print A-line skirt by Caroline Herrera with a touch of citrus, black and yellow colour, which she paired with yellow sandals, a citrus top and a black jacket with sheer sleeves.

Jessica Alba’s Home Design

Her California-based house in which she lives with her husband and two daughters is a perfect mix of vintage elements and green design. Not only did she opt for no-VOC paints and free-vinyl chairs, but she incorporated a green wall in living room, too.

Her living room couches are custom-made using only nontoxic fillers and a flame-retardant-free grey velvet. A refurbished armchair previously owned by F. Scott Fitzgerald and her daughter’s flea market dresser add a vintage feel to the house. This Craiglist fan once said: “I find that things that are mass-produced these days don’t have the touch that older things have – I also like the story behind something, the fact that it’s had a life.”

Jessica Alba's style - boho & mid century modern

A blue colour palette predominates in her two-bedroom vacation rental and guesthouse in Los Angeles. She hired Consort Design to help her design “a nautical jewel box.” Her maritime-inspired outfits from above inspired her to opt for red-and-white striped cushions, blue furniture and blue walls. Jessica’s love for boho can be seen in a woven accents Moroccan-inspired rug, a vintage kimono pillow, Roman shades made with natural materials and antler wall décor found in her predominantly beige and brown bedroom.

For her eco-friendly home, designers used water-based paints, sustainable carpeting, organic mattresses and non-toxic filling for the custom upholstery.

Jessica’s flawless style, her exquisite sense for interior design, along with her successful film and business career as well as her support of environmental causes make her a truly unique Hollywood star. Now you should be inspired to copy her look and maybe you can share it the next time you link up!

The Trucker convoy is still going strong and sprea The Trucker convoy is still going strong and spreading around the world. The trump cheerleaders found themselves another excuse to occupy institutional buildings and the cities that house them. While I too am fed up of the mandates, I don’t believe their plights are justified. Yes it’s frustrating the flip flop between closures and reopening, and while they are implemented at times to limit the spread as to alleviate the strain on the healthcare system, as annoying as they are, I don’t think it’s a reason to be shouting freedom on parliament hill, harassing residents or blatantly displaying racist symbols and rhetoric. For the most part, mandates are not stopping anyone from living, going out, even travelling! They’re a temporary inconvenience to our daily lives, but in due time, will be lifted as COVID becomes more manageable. This isn’t the worlds first go around at a pandemic. Each round takes time to return things back to normal…Just go back to 1918 to see what happened…were those public health measures still in effect 5 or 10 years later?? My heart goes out to businesses and employees whose livelihoods have suffered, especially as gov assistance winds down. But like all trends, major events force humanity to readapt (think automation). Vacancy rate has been at an all time high and unemployment back to pre-pandemic levels, proof that many employees and businesses have retooled and transformed. If those convoys feel strongly about protesting, they should protest for healthcare reform. Canada is ranking as the worst in the G7 for healthcare. Our system is riddled with administrators, not enough doctors or nurses. Caps are put in residency spots and foreign trained healthcare workers waste expertise on low-skilled work as they’re deemed “not good enough” to work in the Canadian healthcare system…now that’s something worth shouting freedom for! Swipe left for more.
