Advice on Fashion, Beauty, Fitness, Home Décor & DIY

Host an Epic Girly Superbowl Party

February 1, 2016 · Decor/Craft DIY, Fashion, Holidays, Home Décor, Womenswear

It’s a packed week for me as I’m co-hosting a link-up today with Michelle Pa(i)ge and Ana Luiza from Northwest Blonde. It’s “Show your sporty/ style” linkup.

While I am definitely not a football fan or connoisseur, I surely am a fan of parties. Since there’s an event to celebrate why not make a party out of it! This post will focus on my girly Superbowl party outfit, décor, AND even what to make for your girly friends.

Host an epic girly superbowl party

So if you’re planning on hosting your own girly superbowl party, make sure to keep my post handy.

Girly Superbowl Party Décor

As for the décor, I love what Refashionably Late did. Lanterns in the theme colours for your girly superbowl party is perfect to easily decorate the ceiling. You can grab some at your local dollar store, along with the cutlery, paper plates, and napkins.be able to find the pink bottles and white and pink straws.

Superbowl party table setting

The pink football wooden display pieces really complete the look. You can find at Target Michaels. As for the mini pink football, you can get some online from Wilson’s.

As for the mason jars, you can either buy them orould, DIY! Here’s an excellent tutorial from It All Started With Paint for DIY mason jars. If you’re not into mason jars, you can switch them for these football cups if you really want to coordinate everything.

Football drinking cups

You can either buy them or DIY them using stickers to stick on them, or paint them on. Here’s one I like from The Sweetest Occasion that will give you an etched finish.

If you want to go all out, consider this option from Hostess with the Mostess. She really got it all figured out. It’s amazing how you can really go all out for your girly superbowl party.

Girly Superbowl party table décor

I honestly did not think all of this existed but I guess ladies are definitely into the girly superbowl party thing. Here’s an itemized list of where each piece comes from if you’d like to replicate the look

  • Printable scoreboard: Soiree Event Design
  • Football goal posts, bleacher stand & turf tablecloth: Hello My Sweet
  • Candy apples, cake pops & chocolate football lollipops: Autumn Lynn’s Chocolate Sins
  • Acrylic laser cut cupcake toppers: Ten23 Designs . com
  • Candy: Candy Warehouse
  • Glitter cupcake wrappers: Dress My Cupcake
  • Bling candy scoops: Talia’s Creative Printing
  • Bling Sticks & Touchdown Banner: Made By A Princess
  • Sequin linen (backdrop): Candy Crush Shop

If you really want to dig into details, I invite you to check out her Pinterest board.

Girly Superbowl Party Snacks

As for food, here’s what I suggest. I stumbled upon Pam’s tweet from Simply Southern Mom about superbowl dip recipes. I thought to myself “I gotta mention this in my post because it’s perfect!”

12 Superbowl dip recipes

She listed 12 dip recipes that are super achievable for your girly superbowl party. Not 1, not 2, but 12!! Pick and choose the one you want. I love the Crab Ragoon dip and the Pina Colada dip.

To sweeten things up, check out these chocolate covered strawberries you can make. I found these on Kara’s Party Ideas.

Football chocolate covered strawberries

No girly superbowl party is complete without these football capke pops from Food Marriage.

Football cake pops

While is may look like you’ve put in tons of hours and way too much thought into this, it actually isn’t all that tough to execute a girly superbowl party. Better yet, if you want to save on time, make it a pot luck and ask some of the other ladies to each bring in a dish.

Sporty Superbowl Inspired Outfit

Show your sporty/football style

So you may be a football fan and are rooting for a team. Whoever you’re going for, I hope they win!! I’m still struggling to understand what a Quarterback does!!!

Sporty Superbowl inspired outfit

Given my lack of knowledge in football, I obviously opted for a safe choice in outfit to show who I’m rooting for.

Black sweater and black leggings

That’s right folks, team Little Black Sweater is who I’m going for (I noticed the little hairs that creeped up on my sleeves from my eternity scarf). At least I know what it’s all about 😉

Little Black Sweater

Knowing that winning isn’t a walk in the park, I paired it with my Work Hard Play Hard gym pants, leg warmers and my aqua Adidas runners.

Work Hard Play Hard black leggings

I might not know how to play football, but I know that to win, you need to work hard and play hard. That’s where the girly Superbowl party comes in.

Cute Superbowl Party or Valentine’s Day Outfit Option

Another way to be in the spirit of the Valentine season, in a sporty style that’s perfect for a girly superbowl party, is this Be You tiful racer back top. It’s perfect for the gym, a girl’s hangout, or even with jeans.

It’s got a cute simple design that’s pretty versatile.  Reserve yours today for a little over $20 USD. It’s only available for the next 3 days, so hurry!

Girly Superbowl Nails

You can also go all out and ensure your nails are matching your girly superbowl party theme or your team’s colours.

I love the pink and brown look that Sephora put out in time for Superbowl bonanza from @peacehappnails Instagram.

The Trucker convoy is still going strong and sprea The Trucker convoy is still going strong and spreading around the world. The trump cheerleaders found themselves another excuse to occupy institutional buildings and the cities that house them. While I too am fed up of the mandates, I don’t believe their plights are justified. Yes it’s frustrating the flip flop between closures and reopening, and while they are implemented at times to limit the spread as to alleviate the strain on the healthcare system, as annoying as they are, I don’t think it’s a reason to be shouting freedom on parliament hill, harassing residents or blatantly displaying racist symbols and rhetoric. For the most part, mandates are not stopping anyone from living, going out, even travelling! They’re a temporary inconvenience to our daily lives, but in due time, will be lifted as COVID becomes more manageable. This isn’t the worlds first go around at a pandemic. Each round takes time to return things back to normal…Just go back to 1918 to see what happened…were those public health measures still in effect 5 or 10 years later?? My heart goes out to businesses and employees whose livelihoods have suffered, especially as gov assistance winds down. But like all trends, major events force humanity to readapt (think automation). Vacancy rate has been at an all time high and unemployment back to pre-pandemic levels, proof that many employees and businesses have retooled and transformed. If those convoys feel strongly about protesting, they should protest for healthcare reform. Canada is ranking as the worst in the G7 for healthcare. Our system is riddled with administrators, not enough doctors or nurses. Caps are put in residency spots and foreign trained healthcare workers waste expertise on low-skilled work as they’re deemed “not good enough” to work in the Canadian healthcare system…now that’s something worth shouting freedom for! Swipe left for more.
