What are you having to eat this holiday season? I’m sure it will be calorie-rich and extremely tasty. After all, ’tis the season to be jolly and eat!
Who can resist an extra nibble or two during the holiday season? From Christmas feasts, office holiday parties, and celebratory soirees, overindulging doesn’t mean sacrificing on style.
What I’ll be Having
Over and above the turkey, pumpkin soup, duck roast, and whatever else will come my way, here is what I am going to indulge in (‘cus I just made it for tomorrow):
Layered chocolate nougat bar from Diethood.
Coffee and chocolate almond toffee bar also from Diethood.
and Pumpkin caramel cheesecake bars with a streusel topping from Chelsea’s Messy Apron.
If you like these recipes from Diethood and Chelsea’s Messy Apron, feel free to download them below (available soon) or check it out on their sites (the links are above). I will be saving them to this page to make it handy for you baking.
Your First Tips
Last month, I wrote a post about 3 ways to keep the weight off during the holidays. That’s a good start (although I hope you already took and applied the advice).
What about when there’s no giving in. Clearly, there’s no shortage of overindulgence in my case for tomorrow. Can you blame? Looking at the pics alone, I already feel the drool leaking out of my mouth.
I might regret this later, but since I planned my cheat meal to fall on Christmas Eve, I should be fine. What that means is I followed my normal eating and exercising plan all week, and saved the treat meal for the day I knew I was going to be fully in celebration mode.
What to Wear When You Overeat – A Step by Step Guide
Given the situation where you are sure to overindulge in the many goodies, what’s the fashion solution to that? What to wear when you overeat?
Here are some step-by-step to held you figure out what to wear when you overeat. It’s layer-by-layer options that will have you posting real time holiday selfies in no time.
Shapewear
For knowing what to wear when you overeat, start with shapewear. Favoured by stylists and their celebrity clientele, shapewear comes in various styles and levels of control. From shaping panties to slips, and light to firm control, there are several selections out there to begin dressing for a good holiday party.
The Vanishing Edge Waist Cincher shows off an hourglass silhouette with a silky waist cincher. The sleek compression fabric is fused with ultra thin panels to slim and sculpt your torso. This flawless, no-lines look that stays in place comes in black or nude and priced at $42.00.
The Smoothing Short is perfect for everyday or just when you reach for that extra glass of champagne. It can be worn underneath a skirt, dress or pants. In addition to light shaping, it helps prevent static, chafing, and of course no visible panty lines. Available in six different shades, it’s priced at $26.00 or get 2 for $39.00.
Dresses
Dresses or jumpsuits offer a great alternative when you are looking for options for what to wear when you overeat. Soft fabrics and forgiving silhouettes are great as they tend to hide anything that’s likely to protrude. You no longer have to be weary of your outfit, whether you’re enjoying another tempting piece of Christmas log at your in-laws or dancing to your favourite song at the office holiday party.
Sexy and comfortable, the Space Dyed Tee Shirt Dress hides those extra holiday pounds with dolman sleeves and relaxed tee shirt styling. On more casual days, this dress can be restyled with a pair of leggings. It’s currently retailing at $98.00.
Jumpsuits
This one is one of my preferred options as it’s so versatile. The Wide Leg Keyhole Jumpsuit is a slightly loose silhouette roomy enough for any overindulgent discomfort. The chic matte jersey jumpsuit has a lined bodice, cut away shoulders, wide flowing legs, sexy front and back keyholes, and two sash options that goes for about $140.00.
Layering
When faced with a situation of what to wear when you overeat, layering is your BFF. But it doesn’t have to be done with an ugly Christmas Sweater (unless you are running a contest at your Christmas Eve dinner party).
Heads will turn for all the right reasons with the Marielle Faux-Fur Cardigan. This luxe faux-fur cardigan is equal parts glamorous and elegant and goes for $139.00.
Accessories
The key to achieving attractive layering when figuring out what to wear when you overeat is accessorising. Accessorise with jewellery to take your sweater or cardigan out of the casual zone and into the glam party mood.
The Collectibles Paris Necklace is a limited edition necklace. It takes craftsmen three days to hand set each glass stone to create cascading statement making necklace. Given the work involved, $249.00 is a steal for this gem.
What will you be eating this holiday season and what will you wear when you overeat? Would love to hear from you.
