I’ve been nominated by Oh Chel! for the Liebster Award. #Exciting!

Before a few days ago, I had no idea what the Liebster Award was, what it meat, or why I was being nominated. So I went on Oh Chel!’s page to read a little more. 

Liebster Award Explained

Liebster is an award giving to those with under 200 followers – So someone who is new to the blogsphere.  There are a few different ways to go about it, so I’m going to pick what I would like to do as a Nominee.  I’m going to list 11 personal things about me as well as answer the questions that are asked.  Afterwards I will be nominating 5 other new upcoming bloggers and ask them to list 11 personal things as well as answering the questions I ask.  This is always an option and you can decline if you want… but it’s a way for people to grow and learn about other bloggers, so why say no?

The Questions for the Liebster Award Nomination

1. Why did you start blogging?

My sister told me it was a good idea to get more styling clients when I decided to take on wardrobe styling in my city. This was in 2007. I’ve been blogging since then.

2. What inspires you to blog?

Telling people about my experiences in fashion, DIY (coming soon), fitness (also coming soon). I enjoy giving them style advice, and informing them of cool concepts, outfit ideas and fun products that we may not otherwise hear of.

3. What post are you most proud of?

I’d have to say the Hostess’ Guide to Practical Home Decor. It took a while to write, I really wanted it to be well thought-out and helpful.

4. Do you social media and if so what’s your favourite?

I used to really like Twitter, as it was my biggest engagement turnover. I still do enjoy it now but I am absolutely loving Pinterest at the moment. It’s so fun and I am gaining traction on it.

5. What is one thing that you are thankful for?

My family…enough said.

6. What brings you joy?

I’m sure every mommy says the same thing, so yes my answer is cliché, and corny, but it’s my kids…lol…did you expect anything else??

If I must name a second, it would be hmmm, helping others or seeing others surge out of desperate situations safely. Nothing gets me like human suffering…

7. What are you passionate about?

Its funny you ask this question, because one would think it’s fashion. While I love fashion, I must say I am more passionate about home décor.

I’m passionate about my work, anything I put my hands in.

8. Favourite hobbies?

• Home décor;
• DIY projects or repurposing projects; and
• learning about things through reading articles or listening to webinars (that is when it’s quiet at home so I can hear and no one is yelling MOM 30 times a minute).

9. Who is your role model?

You know in a lifetime I could not answer this question, but it can be anyone that built themselves from scratch, went from ashes to something admirable. And I don’t mean only financial success, personal success, educational success, etc.

People that survive and tough through hardships I’ll probably never know in my life because I was blessed with what they may perceive as an “easy” life (I’m not saying I have everything handed to me on a silver platter, because I don’t, I have my own hardships but if I compare them with people running away or struggling to overcome the world harshest realities, I believe my struggles in comparison to theirs are minor).

10. Best book you’ve ever read?

It’s a book about Montreal’s history, which I cannot remember the name for the life of me or find the link to it.
