I don’t normally feature childrens designer brands or kidswear on my blog but thought I’d give it a go.
The Usual Brands
For children’s clothes, I usually snoop around Joe Fresh, Children’s Place, or Gymboree. It’s great for those disposable outfits you need as kids wear and tear everything. The price point won’t make you cry if they rip at the knee or stain the collar.
Boys & Girls
Boys tend to be worse when it comes to pants. They quickly abuse the knees of their pants that at the beginning of every school year, you have to invest in a dozen new pairs that will take you through to the end. So for such circumstances, I usually pick out some of my favourite styles at Joe Fresh. I find they have a great selection and a trendy cut for them.
Childrens Designer Brands Criteria
Yet I do enjoy once in while buying from luxury childrens designer brands for pieces that:
- Are for occasional use.
- Will live to serve as a handy-me-down.
- Will be with them for at least a little while before they grow out of it
In addition, while pants may suffer an unfortunate fate, tops don’t necessarily go down the same melancholic path. Especially as your boy gets older, you don’t feel so bad in investing in childrens designer brands for him. As for girls, they tend to be more careful with their clothes. I’m keener on investing on a children’s designer piece for the girly girls.
The List
I’ve been looking lately for some childrens designer brands and I found a few brands that top my hit list:
Dior
While being one of the most expensive, I surely couldn’t resist this red beauty. It is a timeless piece that can be passed down generations to come.
Burberry
Surprisingly not as expensive as I would have expected it to be, the brand has great offerings for kids at reasonable prices. A Burberry trench/spring coat is synonymous with Adidas soccer shoes. It’s a piece that will serve as a great handy-me-down and will likely last through the rough terrains of boys’ playtime.
Armani Junior
While it might be more on the pricey side, Armani surely does provide classic pieces that can be worn time and time again.
Aletta
This brand has great offerings for babies. With prices that are affordable, you don’t feel guilty buying one or two of their pieces for your little one.
Calvin Klein
Calvin Klein provides children, as with adults, affordable luxury. That’s why I included this brand in the hit list. Their line offers great casual pieces that won’t break the bank, just like these unisex shoes.
Dainty Dizzy
Dainty Dizzy has some of my most favoured offerings. I absolutely love their originality. It’s moderately priced but you do get unique pieces just like this adorable tulle dress. It comes in a multitude of colours.
Mi Mi Sol
I like this line because it mimics adult classic yet edgy pieces for kids. Take these pants for example. You may decide to go with the full suit or just one piece. I may wait for a sale to snatch one of their items but rest assured, their prices are not over-bloated.
For More
There are others that you can check out and vet for yourself. Child Boutique is a great site for childrens designer brands. They carry some 300 childrens designer brands and ship worldwide.
