That’s me, 3rd from right. I felt strongly about this dress choice. It matched my hair, meshed well with the crowd, and while it was funky, I didn’t necessarily stand out too much in this abstract art dress.
Abstract Art Dress for the Holidays
So here’s the story behind this dress. I purchased the dress at an auction held at a fashion event a year before the time of the photo. I didn’t really have a chance to wear the abstract art dress before that moment. Why I chose this dress for that night? Well I was going to be in a boutique holiday event surrounded by designer pieces and designer wearing gals. I figured I should flex my fashion muscles and bring out something they wouldn’t ordinarily see.
Made by Zoran Dobric
The abstract art dress is made by Zoran Dobric. He’s a Canadian designer that has been around for a few years and works out of his Toronto studio.
The abstract art portion is only one element of it. You can’t see all the dress details, but it’s got nicely peaked shoulders and is made of silk.
I wore the abstract art dress with knee high black boots and black opaque tights. You can easily combine the outfit with funky clogs, booties, wedges, gladiator shoes, depending the season and the occasion. As for accessories, I went with something complimentary that would bring out the pattern of the abstract art dress. You can’t really see it in the photo bit I’m wearing hoop earrings with a bird inside.
The Gist of it
I spent the bulk of the night chatting with old friends, bloggers, etc. You know…usual stuff you do at parties. We got to shop a little but I was slightly in a rush so I didn’t have much of a chance to indulge in the goodies of the store. Hush Boutique, as its called, is a consignment store stock full of designer goodies at ridiculous prices. If you’re ever in town, you gotta stop by!

Popped over to check out your newly optimised old blog from the 30 Day Challenge. Looks good. But like you say, going back through old blog posts and optimising is hard work. I’m gradually doing this too.
