As fashionistas, we hardly think we are ever wrong when outfits together. But just like everyone else, we are not perfect and require the help of our peers. In this post, I’ll be showing you how you can easily balance your outfit so you keep it looking fresh and free of clutter.
I’ve discussed how to balance your outfit before in a previous post that you can check out to get some more helpful tips.
Balance Your Outfit With Basics
De-cluttering Your Outfit
Looking at the picture above, at a first glance, you can tell the belt is awkward. It’s breaking the silhouette, distracting from the rest of the outfit. I wonder why it’s even there??
Then we notice that white shirt layered on top of the brown shirt layered underneath this beautiful trapeze shaped jacket. What a spoiler! Is it really necessary? I don’t think so.
I don’t particularly enjoy the combination of brown and white either.
Simplify Your Outfit
Here’s what I did to simplify and freshen up the look:
- So I tied up the hair to give a fresh look to the face.
- The brown top was changed to black.
- I replaced the earrings with a black bangle.
- The shoes remained, as they were nice and worked well with the outfit
Now it looks fashionista approved. Balance your outfit by adopting the simplest of fashion concepts. It’s a lot easier than you think!
The Gist of it
Balance your outfit by simplifying your look.
- Choose one focal point for your outfit
- Choose basics that rock when put together
- Go simple on the accessories
- If you have a higher or voluminous collar, put your hair up
What other tips do you have to balance your outfit? I’d love to hear them.
