DIY No Sew Oversized Blanket Scarf in Under an Hour

February 19, 2017 · DIY/Upcycling, Fashion

Have you DIY’d a blanket scarf before? Many people when they think of DIY or repurposing, they believe it takes a long time, or requires special skills. I beg to differ. I never went to DIY school or have special hands. With advent of Pinterest, DIY has never been easier. This project doesn’t even call for sewing, so there are no excuses here!

How to DIY a No Sew Oversized Blanket Scarf

The whole process of creating this scarf should not take you more than an hour.

What You Need

  • 2.286 metres (or 2.5 yards) of plaid or striped flannel or soft fabric
  • Fabric scissors

What to do

Your fabric needs to be square so you can get the full blanket scarf effect. If it’s not wide enough, you may need to cut it in half and sew both parts together to make a square.

Measure your fabric and cut where needed.

Fray the edges to create the finishing.

Fold the fabric into a triangle.

Hold the edges and wrap them around your neck.

Bring them forward and tuck them under the bulky front part.

Fluff your scarf to create a stylish look.

There you go! All done!

The Gist of it

DIY blanket scarf is not hard as I showed you above. All you need are a pair of scissors and fabric to make your outfit as stylish as can be.
