Mens Style Cues from Dress for the Day

Have you hit a roadblock when it comes to mens style? Especially on cold blistery days, when you don’t feel like getting dressed, or setting foot outside the door. But the reality of it is that you don’t have much of a choice, because you have obligations such as work, bringing the kids to school or the bus stop, grocery shopping, walking the dog, etc.

You Have to Look Good to Play Good

For me, dressing up, looking good and finding outfit ideas is what gets me going in the morning. Even my son’s soccer coach said it, and I quote, “You have to look gooood to play gooood” (in a heavy African accent. I love this line. I’m always quoting it while I try and emulate the accent…my son is better at it though…lol).

But how do you get the motivation in the morning to think of mens style, let alone get out of bed??

Mens Style Cues from Dress for the Day

Here’s where Dress for the Day (DFTD) comes in. I recently found out about this while sifting through my emails. DFTD is a chillin’ app and website that works as a discovery platform of women’s and mens style. It’s designed to guide users on what to wear based on occasion, personal style, weather, and budget.

It mainly focuses on e-commerce and street style. So your days of no mens style ideas to cook up are gone my friend.

Founded by Shradha Mehta and Anisha Bhasin Mukherjee, DFTD launched back in 2013 for women and recently expanded to include men.

DFTD MEN offers mens style suggestions for specific occasions like an upcoming wedding or daily recommendations on what to wear to work. It provides accurate results based on your preferences and desired price range.

Partnership with Sports Illustrated

To address the demand of mens style and outfit ideas, DFTD MEN recently partnered with Sports Illustrated to bring readers guidance in this arena. Sports Illustrated readers submit their mens style questions to founders Shradha and Anisha to weigh in on them.

This collaboration kicked off Sports Illustrated’s first ever mens style content…and this is just the beginning. Take a look here for the introductory post.

All User Generated

The biggest benefit offered by DFTD for users is the street styles are all user-generated. These mens style ideas offer inspiration from everyday people. The best part is that they’re all shoppable pieces to obtain the look and desired mens style.

Inspiration at Your Door

Now, those people who don’t have the opportunity to walk the streets of New York and LA for inspiration can browse and buy different outfits all on one platform. Isn’t that the coolest?? It’s like bringing the fashion capitals of the world to your doorstep.

Sounds pretty cool- some men don’t get it. My husband just got promoted and the other person that started (they filled two positions) came in on his first day with white socks to go with his dress shoes and business casual attire. He’s definitely old enough to know better!
