Sheer tops are a great pick for a smart-casual or elegant look. You can even pull off a fancy outfit for a cocktail by matching a sheer top with a maxi skirt.

Sheer Tops Fabrics
Sheer tops can be made of fine chiffon, maybe silk or lace. A delicate item is what we should wear under the top.

How Sheer is the Top?
When choosing a sheer top, it surely depends on how sheer the top is, the event you are going to, and even the whole design. Some sheer tops could have a special design so that they would cover what is necessary, but some are just simply transparent.

What’s the Occasion?
If you are going to a fancy event and the top is really simple, you can get a fancy bandeau under. Maybe nude embroidery or some beaded details, or just go for a simple nude top that should blend in with your skin colour.
If you are going to a club or a concert and you have a sleeveless sheer top, a leather bra could just be the detail you were searching for.

Still, you need the right attitude to wear it.
A black lace sheer top mixed with a maxi skirt for an elegant party calls for a simple black bra or bandeau. You can go for a bralette or a strapless top under if you want to cover a bit more, but try to have in mind the design of the top.
Never Do This…
What you should never do when you wearing sheer tops:
- Wear a contrasting colour under even if you think it looks nice. The only thing you could try, but that depends on the top’s cut, is going for a nude bralette.
- Don’t wear a bra with straps if the top has spaghetti straps or sheer straps. It would look awful. Better yet, pick a strapless bra, bandeau or bralette that would complement the whole look.

- If the design is beaded and semi-sheer, the undergarment should be nude or similar to the top’s colours. Nude would emphasize the top’s design while if you pick the same hue, they will just blend in.
