Maison Margiela Artisanal collection is a process of discovery. It is the returning to one’s roots. Piece by piece, it is about deconstructing and constructing a new story. The brand is itself a world deep in its past but with promises of the future.

It is a heartened commitment to the extraordinary possibilities of the Maison’s Atelier and the art of Haute Couture.
In Recent Times
The fashion house was founded in Paris in 1988 by Belgian designer Martin Margiela. Iconoclast and irreverent, the Maison presents Haute Couture, women’s and men’s ready-to-wear. It also has its contemporary line MM6, accessories, fine jewellery, fragrances, and interior design.

In 2014, John Galliano took over the creative direction of the Maison. The marriage of Galliano’s undeniable creative mind and the Maison’s history ground-breaking designs birthed the Artisanal phenomena.
Since the takeover, the unconventional sense of the line has remained. However it has radically been intertwined with a non-standard elegance à la Galliano.
Maison Margiela remains classic but visionary, daring yet ambiguous.
The Maison Margiela Artisanal Collection Perspective
The collection approaches tailoring, techniques, craftsmanship like a new explorer, or painter. One who sees beauty in things that are often taken for granted. It gives everything a newly enriched life.

The Fabrics
The collection utilises a powerful and fierce, yet refined mix of fabrics and materials. They have been for the most part, stripped down, or reborn together in startling and unexpected ways.

The Sweeping Silhouette
It’s a new direction given with play on proportion and sartorial rules. It’s languid, sweeping away, disinclined to exert any effort. Yet its precise tailoring provides it a fuller revealing silhouette.

Cabinet de Curiosité
The audiences’ eyes are wide open in wonderment to a veritable Cabinet de Curiosités. They are observing a jigsaw of lacquered shells reminiscent of Arcimboldo style figures. A miniature battalion charging across a black velvet shoulder seems to come racing at them. Pearls that bring teardrops of memories to the face challenge their emotions.
It’s as if they were looking through the glass. They’re discovering an elusive, rare even arrestingly strange new beauty. They see muses who nonchalantly arouse their senses.
The Finale of Toiles
The Cabine are marching in honest testimony of the process. The trials and errors, the time and emotion put behind each cut, line, and vision presents an exuberant spectacle of colours and exotic looks.
